table residency is a low-threshold residency, hosted at aerial at least once a year. finalised outcomes are not prioritised, but rather integration with the local community and encouraging conversations around the person's practice. during the residency there is at least one encounter with the public, whether it is an exhibition, dinner, conversation, film screening or talk.
in may 2024, we are so looking forward to hosting julie stavad! she will be here from 10-19 may. during her residency, she will be connecting with the bergen art and cultural scene, through a dinner and studio visits. one opportunity to encounter julie’s work with be through an event called table of contents with bergen-based artist tine adler.

julie stavad sculptures and installations engage the body while creating an associated interaction with the object through dramatic shifts in scale and material contrasts. by combining various sensory modalities, the artist attempts to create an interaction in which the quiet material speaks and verbal utterances take on tangible shape.
julie stavad has exhibited work at o-overgaden, denmark; holstebro kunstmuseum,denmark; kunsthal aarhus, denmark; LIAR (usa) and kunsthalle seinäjoki, finland, among others.
