sofie hviid vinther x shared space
open studio
thursday 27 november
12:00

A few words from sofie as she is currently working at aerial as part of our project “shared space”, building up to her solo exhibition Tekstil industri museet in 2026!

“At aerial I will be testing, experimenting and filming material for video elements that will be included in the exhibition.

The project is shaped by dialogue with the Tekstil industri museet building and its history. How the factory gave birth to a village and a community, and how the changes of the times within the clothing industry changed the local community the factory had created in Salhus.

The clothes we wear today are most often produced in countries that are far away, under conditions that are just as distant from us. The industry is harsh, our consumption is unnecessarily high and with great economic inequalities, not everyone has the opportunity to make the “right” choices.

With a desire to tell the story of an industrial and local community, I will build a stage with cardboard boxes as bricks. A stage where it is uncertain whether you are standing in the middle of a construction site or in a ruin.

On Thursday 27 November at 12:00, you are invited to an “open studio” at aerial. Some food will be served and a conversation based on the sculptures and video shown will open up between @carol_stampone, myself and the visitors.”
